Saras and Kumud update Wednesday 12 February 2025
Saras and Kumud :The episode begins with Kumud preparing to leave as the time has come for her to return home. She embraces her family, taking their blessings, and turns to Vidyachatur. He urges her to reconsider, assuring her that he won’t be bound by societal expectations if she chooses to stay. Kumud, however, remains resolute, placing her trust in herself and her decision. She promises her mother that she won’t tolerate injustice and reassures Vidyachatur. Pramad, impatient, asks if they can leave. Kumud signals Vidyachatur not to say anything to Pramad. Vidyachatur reminds Kumud that their home will always be open for her.
Pramad hesitates and says, “If you wish, you can stay longer with your family.” Before leaving, Badimaa, who hadn’t spoken to Pramad much before, introduces herself. She reveals her painful past—how her husband abandoned her while she was pregnant and later ended up in jail due to his misdeeds. Vidyachatur, she explains, provided her with respect and a home. Badimaa takes the opportunity to emphasize the importance of women in their family and indirectly warns Pramad not to hurt Kumud’s self-respect. She then performs his aarti, smiling. When she asks him to seek her blessings, Pramad barely bows before insisting on leaving. Kumud smiles at Badimaa and departs.
On their journey back, goons intercept their car. Pramad arrogantly tries to confront them, but they demand his valuables. When he refuses, they assault him. Kumud rushes out, pleading for Pramad’s safety. To protect him, she surrenders her jewelry, hesitating only when they ask for her mangalsutra. Reluctantly, she removes it and tosses it, but before it can hit the ground, Saras arrives and catches it. Shocked, Kumud stares at him as he firmly holds the sacred symbol of her marriage.
Meanwhile, at home, Budhidhan speaks with Vidyachatur, expressing concern for Kumud’s safety. Vidyachatur’s indirect responses make Budhidhan realize that he now knows the truth about Pramad. Budhidhan laments how Pramad has shamed their family, but Alak retorts that the truth was bound to come out. Kalika, eavesdropping, smirks.
Back at the scene, Saras fiercely fights the goons, overpowering them. Pramad, instead of defending himself or Kumud, cowers near the car. Once the goons flee, Saras gathers Kumud’s scattered jewelry and hands it back to her. Pramad, watching this, bitterly remarks that Saras was sent to protect Kumud since no one trusts him to do so. Feeling humiliated, he abandons Saras and Kumud on the road, driving off alone.
At Vidyachatur’s house, Guniyal expresses worry over Kumud’s fate. Badimaa reassures her, saying Kumud will stand strong, just as she always has. However, Guniyal fears that Kumud will suffer in silence. Kusum suggests that she should visit Kumud’s house for a few days to check on her, and everyone agrees that it’s a good idea.
On the road, Saras returns the mangalsutra to Kumud, urging her to wear it as a sign of her commitment to her marriage. Kumud, with a heavy heart, takes it, promising to uphold her marriage for her mother, herself, and even Saras.
As they walk, the song Tadap Tadap Ke plays, reflecting their silent agony. They recall their past love, now overshadowed by fate. They manage to hitch a ride on a bullock cart. Saras kneels to help Kumud climb in, and she steps onto his leg. Both exchange sorrowful glances as tears roll down their cheeks. Their journey together is filled with painful memories and unspoken emotions.
Upon reaching home, Kumud is greeted by Pramad’s mother, who immediately senses something is wrong. She inquires about the journey, suspecting Pramad’s behavior. When Kumud hesitates, she realizes Pramad had abandoned her. However, Kumud reassures her that everything is fine and hides the truth. When asked about her broken mangalsutra, she lies, saying Pramad will have it repaired. Pramad’s mother praises Kumud’s resilience but silently worries about her well-being.
Later, in their room, Pramad taunts Kumud and calls for Kalika. Kumud dismisses Kalika, asserting her role as Pramad’s wife. She tries to engage Pramad in conversation, hoping to understand his anger. But Pramad, frustrated, throws a question at her—“Who was Saraswatichandra?” Kumud is left speechless as Pramad smirks, demanding answers. He then pushes her aside and leaves.
Meanwhile, Kalika flirts with Saras, but he quickly dismisses her, realizing she came from Pramad’s room. He warns her to stay away, knowing she stirs trouble.
The next morning, Budhidhan confronts Pramad about abandoning Kumud. Pramad tries to deflect, but Budhidhan scolds him harshly. Frustrated, Pramad accuses his father of undermining him by trusting Saras over him. Budhidhan firmly replies that his decision was justified. The tension between father and son escalates until they are both yelling. Kumud watches in distress.
Just then, Murakh Das enters with Kusum, surprising everyone. Pramad sarcastically remarks that Kumud never mentioned “Naveenchandra” to Kusum. Sensing trouble, Kumud quickly takes Kusum away. Pramad then calls for Saras, who enters. When Pramad refers to Kumud’s sister as “Kusum,” Saras reacts instinctively, confirming her name before realizing his slip. Everyone is stunned.
Saras quickly covers his mistake, pretending he had heard about Kusum earlier. However, Pramad seizes the moment to taunt him further, sarcastically thanking him for being Kumud’s savior. Budhidhan intervenes, warning Pramad to behave in Kusum’s presence. Later, Saras, deeply troubled by the ongoing turmoil, prays for peace in the household.
In the kitchen, Kalika tries to provoke Kumud, but Murakh Das silences her. Kumud glares at Kalika, determined not to be swayed. However, she knows that soon, she will have to answer Kusum’s inevitable question: Who is Naveenchandra?
