Saras and Kumud update Tuesday 11 March 2025

Saras and Kumud

Saras and Kumud: The episode begins with Saras watching Kumud sleep. She is restless, lost in thoughts about different phases of her life. Seeing her discomfort, Saras adjusts the fan to make her sleep peacefully, just as she once did. He reflects that fate is giving them a second chance. Badimaa notices them together. She calls out to Saras, but he gestures for her to stay quiet as Kumud is asleep. He then walks over to Badimaa.

Badimaa asks if Kumud is okay. Saras replies that she is not and that she needs him. Badimaa says no one will understand this. Saras insists that he does not need to explain himself to anyone—he knows Kumud is exhausted from running away from life. Even though she won’t admit it, she needs his support.

Kumud wakes up and sees the fan moving. She murmurs that if emotions remain alive, how can a relationship end? Badimaa asks Saras what he means. He replies that Kumud is incomplete without him, and to make her whole, he must hold her hand forever—no matter what, he will never let her go. Kumud overhears this, and tears well up in her eyes. She recalls her moments with Saras and smiles through her tears.

As Kuch Na Kahe plays in the background, Kumud accidentally burns her hand, triggering memories of Pramad trying to set her on fire. She recalls his cruel words, the pain he inflicted on her, and how she had once performed Saras’s shraadh. Yash’s mother’s taunts echo in her mind. Then, Saras’s words about holding her hand forever replay in her thoughts. She mutters to herself that Saras cannot erase her past, and though she will live alone forever, she cannot bear to see him in pain.

The Next Morning Saras, deep in thought, hopes that this Diwali will bring brightness and happiness into their lives. He decides that this time, he will extend his hand—will Kumud take it? Smiling, he approaches her. Just then, Kumud’s kamarbandh falls, and Saras catches it. As he fastens it back, he remarks that though time has weakened their love, it has not broken it. This time, he vows to strengthen their bond so that no force can shake it.

However, as he looks up, he realizes he has mistakenly addressed Kusum, not Kumud. Shocked, he stammers, realizing his mistake. Apologizing, he quickly walks away. Kusum, heartbroken, watches him leave.

Meanwhile, Kumari approaches Saras and asks if Kumud came for the aarti. As Kumud performs the aarti, Saras watches her fondly. Kusum stands beside him, making him feel uncomfortable about their earlier interaction. When Saras closes his eyes to pray, Kusum gazes at him with longing. Danny steps in between them, sensing the tension.

Kumud, after finishing the aarti, signals Kumari to distribute it to everyone, deliberately avoiding Saras. Noticing this, Badimaa becomes concerned. Saras, taking the aarti from Kumari, wonders why Kumud is still upset with him. Badimaa, sensing his distress, asks if something is wrong. He denies it and takes her blessings.

Diwali Celebrations and Hidden Pain

Danny wishes everyone a happy Diwali. Kumari, sensing the subdued atmosphere, suggests playing a game to lift the mood. As they play, Kusum successfully guesses an answer, and Danny excitedly hugs her. Saras watches them with a smile.

Kumud, however, excuses herself, saying she needs to light the diyas on the terrace. Badimaa, concerned that Kumud might burn herself in haste, sends Saras after her.

Meanwhile, Yash’s mother receives a call from Yash and excitedly asks him to return home and get married. She taunts the girls in the family. Kumari jokes that he should get married before them. Danny urges everyone to continue the game.

Elsewhere, Kalika wishes Pramad a happy Diwali, calling it an auspicious day for them. She gleefully informs him about the Desai family’s humiliation and the marriage proposal for Kusum. She reveals that she has already informed Kumud. Pramad, feeling abandoned, lashes out at Kalika. He accuses her of making him lonely and tells her to leave. He shuts the door in her face.

On the terrace, Kumud lights the diyas. Saras approaches her and wishes her a happy Diwali. She returns the greeting but seems distant. Noticing her unease, Saras asks what’s wrong. She brushes it off, but he persists. Frustrated, he tells her that she never shares her pain with him and refuses to partake in his happiness. As he speaks, his hand accidentally gets burned. Concerned, Kumud immediately asks Kumari to apply balm to his wound and then walks away. Saras, left alone, wonders what is troubling her so deeply. Kumud, meanwhile, tells herself that Saras gets hurt whenever he comes close to her and that he must stay away.

Kalika sees an opportunity to strike at Kumud and Saras. Pramad, however, is lost in his own misery, lamenting how his own family abandoned him.

Fireworks and Fear

As the family celebrates Diwali with fireworks, Badimaa watches Saras and Kumud. She encourages Kumud to join in lighting the crackers and urges Saras to make a wish for their future. However, as Kumud watches the sparklers, she is overcome with fear, recalling the night Pramad tried to set her on fire. Panicking, she rushes inside. Saras follows, calling after her.

Kumud, still in the grip of her traumatic memories, pleads with Saras to save her. Holding her gently, he reassures her that she is safe—that this fire is not the one from that night but simply Diwali fireworks. He promises that nothing will happen to her. Overcome with emotion, Kumud breaks down and hugs him tightly. Saras, feeling her pain, is deeply moved.

To comfort her, Saras leads Kumud outside and shows her diyas arranged in the shape of a smiley face. Seeing this, Kumud tears up and tells him to stop—she has heard everything he said the previous night, but it cannot change anything. Saras realizes this is why she has been avoiding him. She confirms it, saying they cannot go back, as life has taken them too far apart. Saras argues that they are still the same people, still deeply in love. But Kumud insists that she is not the same Kumud he once loved—she has been scarred, and her family shares her burdens. If Saras holds her hand, he will suffer too. She likens herself to a kite that has lost its string and urges him not to look back. Saras tries to reason with her, but she walks away.

As the title track of Saraswatichandra plays, Saras is left heartbroken. Badimaa witnesses the scene and is deeply affected.

Wisdom and Decisions

Kumud, back in her room, stares at the fireworks outside. Badimaa visits her, sensing her turmoil. Kumud notices Badimaa’s saree and remarks that it was gifted by Dadimaa. Badimaa, using the saree as a metaphor, explains that though life may seem worn out, it can still be revived with care and patience. She tells Kumud that while she herself never got a second chance at happiness because she had to care for Kumari, Kumud is not bound by such circumstances. She urges her to heal her wounds instead of leaving them open. If Kumud can find happiness, Badimaa will have no regrets in life. Kumud silently absorbs her words.

Later, Guniyal is lost in thought, looking at her daughter’s photo. Badimaa joins her, questioning whether giving Kumud to her was the right decision. Guniyal shifts the conversation to Kusum, revealing that she is troubled.

New Year and Fate

The next morning, Kusum brings food for Saras but stops when she sees Kumud approaching with a tiffin. Hurt, Kusum walks away. Kumud wishes Saras a happy new year and asks to talk. They sit together, and Kumud applies balm to his wound, reminiscing about the past. Saras smiles, but Kumud insists that she cannot walk the path he envisions. She asks him to move on. Saras, devastated, watches her leave, realizing she is still bound by her pain.

As Saras stands alone, he declares to himself she may have asked him to move on, but she is his life, and he cannot let go.
