Saras and Kumud update Wednesday 19 March 2025
Saras and Kumud: The episode begins with Saras and Kumud standing amidst a bed of flowers. Saras gently places a ring on Kumud’s finger as Mann ke dor… plays in the background. Kumud smiles at him, and he gazes back at her with admiration. However, it turns out to be Saras’s imagination—he is still standing outside the shop, holding the ring in his hand. He whispers to himself, “Kumud, you have no idea how happy I am today.”
Meanwhile, at home, Guniyal is eagerly waiting for Kumud’s arrival. She instructs Kusum not to mention anything about Saras, as he has planned a surprise for Kumud. Kalika overhears their conversation. Just then, Yash announces that Kumud has arrived with Badimaa and Vidyachatur. Guniyal welcomes them with an aarti plate and excitedly shares that Kusum’s wedding date has been finalized. However, she quickly notices the tense expressions on their faces and asks what is wrong.
Guniyal becomes increasingly worried as she sees everyone’s silence. Elsewhere, Saras, with Chandrika’s help, is selecting a saree for Kumud. He picks a beautiful red saree, smiling as he envisions how much it will mean to her. He reflects on their deep understanding, convinced that today will unfold exactly as he has envisioned.
Back at home, Vidyachatur breaks the shocking news: Pramad has refused to grant Kumud a divorce. Everyone is taken aback. The judge, siding with Pramad, urged Kumud to give him another chance, citing it as his last wish. Pramad pleaded with Kumud, saying, “I cannot fight with you anymore, so I am begging you. I failed to win your love, but I wish to die in peace. Please, allow me to repent.” Seeing his condition, Kumud was compelled to agree to his request.
Later, in her room, Kumud shares her turmoil with Kusum. She admits she had no other choice but to agree. Shocked, Kusum insists, “You can’t go back to him! How can you even consider it?” Kumud explains that her decision is not for Pramad but for Kusum. If she refused, Pramad would have obstructed Kusum’s marriage. Kusum, with tears in her eyes, tells Kumud that she would remain unmarried forever if it meant Kumud’s happiness. But Kumud stands firm, determined to ensure Kusum gets the happiness she deserves. Kusum begs her to reconsider, but Kumud resolutely packs her bags.
Meanwhile, Saras and Chandrika visit a temple, where she tells him about the divine power of Devi Ma’s sindoor. Saras places the saree before the deity and prays earnestly, believing that his love is strong enough to complete their unfinished relationship. The priest blesses the saree and also hands Saras some sindoor. With renewed hope, Saras smiles, thanking the priest and seeking his blessings.
At home, Vidyachatur is unwilling to let Kumud leave. He tells her firmly, “I will not allow this.” Kalika taunts Kumud, saying that Pramad has manipulated her by playing the victim. Kumud counters that her family’s happiness means more to her than her self-respect. Vidyachatur refuses to accept this reasoning, stating that Kumud should not have to sacrifice herself for Kusum’s sake. Kusum also insists that she cannot be happy at the cost of Kumud’s suffering. Vidyachatur declares, “You will not go anywhere, Kumud. That is my final decision.”
Suddenly, Budhidhan and his wife arrive, leaving everyone stunned. Kumud greets them, and Pramad’s mother pleads, “Think about us. What should we do? Our son is dying.” Budhidhan adds, “Pramad wishes to spend his final days with Kumud. Please, have some compassion and support us.” He assures them that nothing will happen to Kumud. However, Vidyachatur remains resolute. “How can I trust you?” he asks. “She will not go.” His voice turns grave as he adds, “If Kumud wants to leave, she will have to step over my dead body.”
At that moment, Pramad himself arrives, looking frail and miserable. He acknowledges Vidyachatur’s stance, stating, “I understand your decision. If I am hurt, Kumud will be too. I want to give her happiness, but instead, I am causing her pain. This is my punishment.” His parents break down in tears, begging everyone to grant their son’s final wish. Eventually, Vidyachatur makes a surprising decision—while he will not send Kumud to Pramad’s house, he offers to let Pramad stay with them. This shocks everyone. Pramad gratefully accepts, thanking Vidyachatur for allowing him to die in peace. Kalika, observing everything, smirks.
That night, Kumud is lost in thought, yearning for Saras. “Where are you when I need you the most?” she whispers. Just then, Saras arrives, smiling. She turns toward him, tears brimming in her eyes. “Where were you?” she asks. “I was searching for you.” Saras replies, “I went away so that you would never have to search for me again. I want to be with you always.”
Chandrika enters with the saree and hands it to Saras, smiling as she leaves. Kumud looks at the saree and says, “It’s too late now.” Saras shakes his head. “No, it’s not. I spoke to Vidyachatur, and he agreed. I have brought the shagun with me.” He presents the ring, saree, and sindoor. Kumud is overwhelmed with emotion. “I told you to remove your wedding dress once, but this time, I will make you a bride again,” he promises. He kneels before her, smiling.
Just then, Pramad appears, shattering the moment. Saras’s smile fades as he locks eyes with him. Kumud looks down, unable to meet Saras’s gaze. She says, “Pramad will stay here permanently. I have not obtained the divorce.” Saras is stunned. Kumud continues, “You are late once again.” Saras, heartbroken, drops the ring, saree, and sindoor. His eyes turn red with sorrow. Pramad picks up the sindoor, looking directly at Saras. He then steps between them.
Saras, seething with anger, takes Kumud to the kitchen and locks the door. He demands, “Why didn’t the divorce happen? I had no idea this man would still be here!” Kumud defends herself, saying she had to make the decision alone. Saras, his voice breaking, reveals, “I was making arrangements for our wedding. I asked your father for your hand, I bought shagun, I dreamed of our future. And at that moment, you were facing this reality?”
Pramad enters, trying to intervene, but Saras orders him to leave. Pramad insists it’s not Kumud’s fault, but Saras, furious, throws water on Pramad’s face, leaving everyone stunned.
Pramad apologizes and walks away. Kumud, shaken, asks Saras, “What happened to you?” Saras replies bitterly, “I don’t need to explain myself to anyone. Do whatever you want.” Kumud pleads for him to understand, but Saras refuses, saying, “There is nothing to understand.” He walks away as Kumud cries out, “Saras… Saras…”
Later, Pramad, marking the days on his calendar, tells Kumud, “Only 14 days left now. I will try my best.” She urges him to take his medicine and prepare for his doctor’s appointment.
Meanwhile, Saras is lost in his thoughts, fuming with anger. Kumud repeatedly calls him, but he refuses to answer. Frustrated, he throws his phone in rage. Kumud breaks down, and Kusum tries to console her, saying, “Time is the best healer.” But Kumud laments, “For me, the wounds are only deepening.”
The next morning, Kumud visits Saras with prasad from the temple. However, he refuses to acknowledge her. She apologizes, pleading for his support. Saras demands she sign the divorce papers, but Kumud refuses, explaining that Pramad genuinely seeks redemption. Saras, heartbroken, tells her she never considered his feelings. Kumud cries, “I need your support, Saras.” He holds her face and promises, “I may be angry, but I will never leave you alone.”
As Kumud leaves, Saras watches her and vows, “This time, I won’t let you go.”
