Saras and Kumud

The episode opens with everyone expressing their gratitude to Pramad’s mother. She humbly responds, saying she couldn’t let her daughter’s wedding come to a halt and insists they should thank the person who convinced her to come. Everyone curiously asks who it is. Just then, someone enters to everyone’s shock, it’s Laxminandan. Kumud lights up with a smile, saying she’s glad he made it.

Vidyachatur is stunned and calls out, “Nandu…” Kumud touches Laxminandan’s feet in respect, and he blesses her warmly. Saras, meanwhile, silently recalls his earlier fallout with his father. Laxminandan addresses Saras, saying that although he has failed in maintaining relationships, Saras has honored the bond between a father and son by inviting him. He admits that perhaps no one else wanted him there except for Saras.

Vidyachatur, clearly emotional, says that for him, the wedding would have felt incomplete without Laxminandan’s presence. He says he was torn about what to do. Laxminandan agrees and says he doesn’t deserve Vidyachatur’s trust, but Vidyachatur disagrees and embraces him. He adds that Laxminandan has shown great strength by letting go of the past and coming.

Laxminandan then gives full credit to Kumud for this reunion. Saras appears upset with her. Kumud calmly replies that no one can stop her from being part of Saras’s life, but to become part of his family, his father’s blessings were essential. She says his father had to be the one to welcome his daughter-in-law.

Still avoiding eye contact with his father, Saras stays silent. Laxminandan tells the pandit to begin the wedding rituals. Saras, emotional and on the verge of tears, looks at Badimaa and breaks down. Pramad’s mother says she will now take her leave, but Vidyachatur asks her to stay until the bidaai. Danny joyfully greets Laxminandan and hugs him, calling him “Dad.” Badimaa urges Saras to stay strong, reminding him it’s his wedding day. Saras nods in agreement.

Saras and Kumud sit in the mandap. Pramad’s mother praises Kumud’s character. Meanwhile, Kalika, envious, watches Kumud’s joy with displeasure. Saras finally smiles as the ceremony progresses. The pandit chants the sacred mantras, and the couple takes the pheras as flowers are showered upon them. After completing the rounds, Saras applies sindoor to Kumud’s forehead, bringing tears to her eyes. The song “Mann ke door bandhe preet…” plays softly.

He then ties the mangalsutra around her neck a special one with a pearl embedded in the pendant. Kumud beams with happiness. Laxminandan proudly states that it’s Saraswati’s mangalsutra. Vidyachatur adds that Saraswati has blessed the newlyweds. The background song “Piya re…” plays as everyone rejoices.

Dada ji compliments Saras for choosing to place the pearl in the mangalsutra and wonders what that decision signifies. Vidyachatur jokes that the one who holds the pearl will rule the household. Laxminandan curiously asks for the backstory, and Vidyachatur says it’s a long tale — teasing that his son is already taken. Saras then lovingly congratulates Kumud, calling her Mrs. Kumud Saraswatichandra, and she smiles joyfully.

Later, Vidyachatur once again thanks Pramad’s mother. Saras and Kumud go around seeking blessings from their elders. Saras, still brooding over his father’s earlier words, quietly steps away. The others notice his sudden exit.

Meanwhile, Danny tells Kusum that they should inform his father about their marriage. Laxminandan notices the mangalsutra around Kusum’s neck and suspiciously asks if she got married. He turns to Vidyachatur for answers. Kalika suddenly blurts out that Danny and Kusum are married. Laxminandan is stunned and looks at Vidyachatur, clearly upset. Without saying a word, he walks away in anger.

Kusum confronts Kalika, accusing her of deliberately revealing the truth. Kalika pretends to be innocent. Badimaa scolds Kalika for creating unnecessary trouble. Vidyachatur says he will speak to Laxminandan. Kusum asks Kalika sarcastically if she’s satisfied now. Kalika, secretly pleased, thinks that one day everyone will be forced to listen to her.

Laxminandan sits, visibly hurt. Vidyachatur approaches him for a conversation. Laxminandan says he understands why no one trusts him he severed ties with a son like Saras. He feels that Danny didn’t even want him at his own wedding. Vidyachatur tries to explain the situation, but Laxminandan blames himself. Kumud overhears their conversation and watches on, troubled.
