Saras and Kumud update Thursday 5 June 2025
The episode opens with Kumud and Kusum performing the evening aarti, while Danny looks upset. Kumud applies tilak on Danny and reminds him to return home on time for the aarti. Meanwhile, Saras is preparing to leave for a site visit but doesn’t allow Kumud to apply tilak on him. Kumud asks Saras for some puja items, and although he remains silent, she decides to get them herself after school. Saras reluctantly takes the list, and Kumud thanks him with a smile. Kusum asks about Ghuman’s whereabouts, and Kusum replies she doesn’t know since Ghuman left early that morning.
Ghuman arrives to meet Kabir, looking stunning. Kabir jokingly asks for her praise, and she praises the success of their plan to separate the brothers without raising suspicion. She then asks why Kabir called her over. Kabir shows her a blank canvas and asks if she remembers why it’s empty. She guesses it’s because he hadn’t found anyone special to paint. Kabir reveals that now he has found someone. When she asks if he will paint her portrait, he says yes, but only if she allows it. She poses, smiling, while thinking Kabir is in love with her and she can use this to get Danny back. Kabir, looking at her, believes she trusts his love and will help him achieve his goal. He begins painting while stealing glances at her.
Back home, Saras returns with the puja items. Kumud thanks him and tells him to freshen up and eat, but Saras says he has already eaten. Kusum teases Saras, saying he was just waiting for Kumud. Kumud reminds Saras to come on time for the aarti, but he refuses and leaves. Meanwhile, Kabir finishes a beautiful painting and shows it to Ghuman. She admires it and admits she’s unsure if she’s truly that beautiful or if Kabir painted her that way. Kabir replies that paintings don’t lie, and she truly is beautiful. He declares this will be his best work and he won’t paint anything else after it.
Saras goes to his room, frustrated, and questions why Kumud is doing all this. He tells himself not to hold onto false hope. He’s hurt because Danny considers him just a stepbrother, someone he used to be close to but no longer trusts. Saras admits he has forgiven Danny many times before, but not this time, and believes the brothers will never reconcile.
In another room, Kusum finds Danny crying. She empathizes with him, guessing Saras might be feeling similarly. Danny laments how alone and scared he felt in jail, especially since Saras never came to visit him. He feels unloved and betrayed. Kusum encourages him to remember that Saras does care deep down, even if it doesn’t always seem that way. Danny questions where Saras was during his time of need and feels closer to Kabir, a stranger who helped him.
Elsewhere, Kalika expresses fear of Dinesh Bhai and refuses to leave home. Ghuman won’t give her money, and she feels trapped. Yash’s mother scolds Kalika, blaming Kumud for Danny and Saras’s ongoing conflict and doubts Kumud’s ability to resolve it. Kalika plans to bring Saras to stay with Kumud on the 10th day and threatens to make Kusum leave her room. Yash’s mother stands firm, declaring she won’t give up her room easily.
Yash’s mother reports Kalika’s threats to Vidyachatur and Badimaa, who are concerned about the family’s unity. Vidyachatur defends Kumud, and Badimaa urges everyone to pray that the house remains unbroken. Vidyachatur insists they’ll do whatever is best for their children, while Badimaa suggests they go for the aarti, knowing Kumud is waiting.
Kalika worries about what to do next. Kumud and Kusum wait anxiously for their husbands to arrive for the puja. Vidyachatur and Badimaa arrive at Kumud’s home, where Kumud warmly welcomes them. Kusum offers them a seat, and Badimaa blesses the gathering. Vidyachatur greets Ghuman and asks about Danny and Saras. Danny arrives and greets everyone, with Kusum smiling. Kumud waits expectantly for Saras, who is alone in his room.
Saras looks at a photo of Kumud and reflects on the pain she has caused him this time. He recalls their promise to support each other through hardships, but now feels abandoned. Kumud was once his only support, but today he lost that as well. Meanwhile, Kumud prepares to start the aarti, holding a diya in her hand and hoping her trust will be tested and upheld. She prays silently as she begins the ritual, tears streaming down her face.
Back in his room, Saras is restless, covering his ears at the sound of the aarti bell. He decides he will not attend the aarti, even as everyone watches Kumud with concern. Saras continues to ponder Kumud’s words and the growing distance between them.
