Saras and Kumud update Monday 7 July 2025
The episode begins with Badimaa visiting Nurse Sarla at the hospital to inquire about a baby born there 21 years ago. Sarla initially brushes her off, saying she should ask the child’s mother. Badimaa explains that the mother is no longer alive and insists it’s very important. Sarla finally invites her inside to help.
Meanwhile, Saras and Kumud are searching for Kabir. Saras suggests they check nearby lodges, thinking Kabir might be staying in one. Kumud agrees and they begin their search. At the hospital, Sarla apologizes, saying the 1993 file isn’t available, but allows Badimaa to look again. Badimaa continues digging through the records.
As Kumud and Saras ask around at different lodges, they meet a receptionist who agrees to help after Kumud mentions her father Vidyachatur. Saras reassures Kumud they’ll find Menka before she leaves.
Back at the hospital, Badimaa finds the 1993 file and reads Saraswati’s medical record. It states she gave birth to a stillborn baby. But the file also mentions two babies were declared dead that day, and Daima (the traditional midwife) handed one to Menka. A torn page in the file catches her attention. She reads it and finds the baby from Janki Devi was the actual stillborn. Sarla confirms this, saying she remembers clearly because her own mother’s name was also Janki. The couple left their stillborn baby at the hospital and never returned.
Shocked, Badimaa realizes the records were switched — Saraswati gave birth to a healthy baby, but Ghuman manipulated the situation and handed the living child to Daima with instructions to kill him. She breaks the news to Saras over the phone: the baby was Saras’s younger brother.
Saras is stunned. Overcome with emotion, he says he wants to destroy Ghuman for what she did. Kumud stops him, urging patience. She says they still don’t know the full story — why Ghuman did it, and what happened to the child. Saras agrees they need answers first.
At home, Badimaa opens a trunk filled with old baby items — clothes and toys Saraswati had lovingly prepared for her unborn child. She becomes emotional as Guniyal walks in and asks what’s wrong. Badimaa tells her that Saraswati believed Saras would have a little brother to play with. Guniyal recalls how Laxminandan came to see the dead baby, but Vidyachatur calmed him down. Badimaa then reveals the shocking truth: the baby didn’t die — he was alive.
Elsewhere, Saras confides in Kumud, trying to imagine what his mother must have felt when she was told her healthy baby had died. He’s furious that Ghuman did all this for money and power. Kumud urges him to stay calm and says they must speak to Menka before jumping to conclusions. Saras is in disbelief that his brother is alive somewhere.
Badimaa lights a diya, praying that Kumud and Saras succeed in finding Menka and that Saras is finally reunited with his brother.
Later, Saras receives a call from the lodge receptionist, who tells him Menka has likely already left the city. Saras informs Badimaa they couldn’t find her anywhere. She asks them to return home and says they’ll figure out their next move together.
Back home, a disheartened Saras tells Badimaa he’s afraid — what if something happens to his brother now that he knows about him? Badimaa comforts him, saying perhaps it’s destiny that he found out after so many years. She believes God wants him to meet his brother.
The next morning, Ghuman is packing her bags. She calls Danny, who is at the Desai house. She asks why he’s avoiding her and says she didn’t see him the day before either. Danny says he’s been busy at the factory. Ghuman tells him she’s leaving town for some important work and will be in touch. After hanging up, she says to herself that Kabir must be on his way to the airport, and she should leave too.
