The episode opens with Ranbir chatting with Simran and Nimrit. Nimrit confidently declares that she’ll marry someone of her own choosing. Dadu reacts with surprise, saying she’s speaking boldly and reminding her that their family follows certain traditions. Nimrit quickly backtracks, saying she was only joking and that she actually wants to take up a job. Dadu firmly objects, saying she won’t be allowed to work.

Meher interjects, expressing that old rules shouldn’t be forced on the younger generation. She supports Nimrit’s desire to have a career, arguing that if she only focuses on marriage, she might end up solely following her in-laws’ wishes and becoming dependent on her husband. At that moment, Bua enters and warmly hugs Ranbir. She makes him promise to take her out again, and he agrees with a smile.

Harman asks Ranbir about his trip. Meher, with curiosity, questions whether he met someone special. Ranbir mentions meeting Meghla. Param and Harman immediately start teasing him. Embarrassed, Ranbir says they’ll talk about it later. Param then reveals that Meher has already chosen a prospective bride for Ranbir. The whole family joins in, telling him about the match Meher arranged with a reputable family.

Ranbir hesitantly protests, saying, “No, Mum…” but Meher, feeling dismissed, says that no one values her emotions. Ranbir tries to calm her down, insisting he hasn’t refused the idea of marriage entirely. Dadu chimes in, saying they’ve made their decision about the girl and it’s final. An argument breaks out, and Meher scolds Ranbir.

Ranbir defends himself, questioning whether someone else can dictate his life. He explains that his work is not just a job but his passion—and it comes with risks. Dadu becomes upset and scolds Diljot (Bua), telling Ranbir not to support her. Ranbir stands by her, explaining that her life was shattered by others and he understands her pain.

Balveer tries to ease the tension, saying everyone makes mistakes. But Dadu stands firm, insisting he did nothing wrong back then. Dadi, however, breaks down in tears and accuses Dadu of being in the wrong. She insists that Diljot could have had a happy marriage and children. Dadu angrily tells her to be quiet, and Diljot directly blames him for ruining her life.

Dadu, visibly affected, sits down. Meher then tells Ranbir that she’s already given her word to the other family. She suggests that if he has any doubts, he should at least go meet the girl. Ranbir finally confesses that he already has feelings for someone. The family is surprised.

He shares that he met a Bengali family during his trip and has grown fond of their daughter—he wants to marry her. But Dadu immediately rejects the proposal, saying he doesn’t approve of the alliance.
