Saras and Kumud update Wednesday 30 April 2025
The episode begins with Saras questioning Kumud about why she claimed Kumud Desai wasn’t at home. Kumud responds that she wasn’t lying—there is no Kumud Desai anymore, only Kumud Saraswatichandra. Saras chuckles at her playful reply. He compliments her earrings, and she shares that Badimaa gave them to her.
When he mentions her bangles, she says they were chosen by Kusum. Saras praises Kusum’s taste. He then refers to the ring he gifted Kumud, asking for her opinion. She tells him it’s beautiful. Saras begins gently removing her jewelry, one piece at a time.
Kumud blushes and smiles shyly. As he gazes at her and leans in, she closes her eyes. He softly blows air on her face while the song Mann Ke Dor plays in the background. Holding her chin, he makes her look into his eyes. She shyly turns away, pulling the ghunghat (veil) between them. Saras touches her hand as music continues playing.
The next morning, the Desai house is unusually quiet, with only Kumud and Kusum present. Kalika serves tea to everyone. Vidyachatur comments on how loud the clock seems, though Dada ji notes it’s always been the same. Badimaa brings up Kumud and the impact of her absence on their daily life. They all discuss how different things feel without her. Kalika is internally annoyed but hides her pleasure about the recent fire at Saras’s house.
Just then, Saras, Kumud, Kusum, and Danny arrive, bringing joy to the household. Everyone welcomes them warmly. Danny gets to work with Yash while Saras quietly signals Kumud. Curious about everyone’s glances, Kumud asks why they’re looking at her.
Badimaa admits they were talking about her. Saras lovingly says they will always be together. Badimaa offers to bring breakfast, while Kusum returns with tea, already prepared. Saras holds Kumud’s hand, and Kalika, noticing their affection, sarcastically thinks that the fire was pointless if it didn’t even produce smoke. She mockingly asks Kumud how their first night in the new house went and if everything was alright. Kumud confidently replies that everything was perfect, leaving Kalika surprised.
Laxminandan enters, and Danny and Kusum greet him respectfully. Saras looks uncomfortable. Laxminandan addresses Danny, suggesting that the women take a break from their daily chores and that they should order from a restaurant instead.
Yash’s mother disagrees. Kumud proposes an alternative—the men should cook for a change. Although skeptical, Yash’s mother protests, saying it won’t be proper. Laxminandan lightheartedly challenges that they can cook just as well and jokes with Vidyachatur. Everyone laughs and gets on board. Danny offers to join in, and Dada ji invites Saras too. Though Saras initially declines, claiming he can’t cook, they convince him to try and impress Kumud. He finally agrees, and the men excitedly head to the kitchen.
Badimaa teases Kumud, saying she’ll go hungry today. Kumud explains that this plan could help bridge the gap between Saras and Laxminandan, maybe even bring them closer emotionally. In the kitchen, the men debate over what to cook, inspecting the vegetables. They begin cooking, and Badimaa comes in, concerned. She insists it’s not appropriate for them to cook and tries to take over, but Dada ji and Vidyachatur humorously chase her out.
Vidyachatur assigns Saras the task of kneading dough. Laxminandan steps in and helps Saras, starting to build a silent connection. The men work together as Dada ji supervises. When Yash’s mother peeks in and sees the mess, Danny escorts her out. Kusum smiles fondly at Danny. Vidyachatur asks her to leave too, so the men can focus. They all cook as a team.
Later, Laxminandan complains that the potatoes are still undercooked. Saras is asked for a solution, and he responds that what matters is the love behind the meal, not its taste. Dada ji agrees with pride. Kumud watches from outside the kitchen. She calls Vidyachatur and says her real motive was to get Saras and Laxminandan talking. Vidyachatur nods and pushes Saras to work closer with Laxminandan.
As Saras moves near Laxminandan, Kumud smiles in satisfaction. Suddenly, hot oil nearly spills on Laxminandan, but Saras shouts “Dad!” and pushes him out of harm’s way. Unfortunately, some of the hot oil still splashes onto both of them. Kumud rushes in and quickly performs first aid.
The family gathers, alarmed by the incident. Vidyachatur informs them that Saras just saved his father. Laxminandan looks at Saras, visibly moved and smiling for the first time. Kumud blames herself for suggesting the cooking idea, but Saras assures her it was no one’s fault—accidents are unavoidable. He ends with a subtle dig at Laxminandan, and the family looks on, sensing the emotional tension.
