Saras and Kumud update Thursday 1 May 2025
The episode begins with Saras walking away, and Kumud following him. Meanwhile, Kusum tells Laxminandan to rest instead of playing chess with her father. Laxminandan expresses how fortunate he feels to have Kusum and Kumud by his side and wishes Ghuman could understand this. Everyone around listens silently.
Kumud catches up to Saras and finds him deeply upset. Saras tells her that while he knows she’s trying to mend things between him and his father, it’s just not possible. Kumud reminds him how once their union seemed impossible too, and now they are married—so reconciliation with his father isn’t beyond hope. Saras says he learned the truth about his father too late, and if he’d known sooner, he would’ve cut ties earlier. Though he can’t forgive him, he says he can suppress his resentment, at least until his father demands his rights. Kumud gently asks if he would like some tea and leans on his shoulder for comfort.
Elsewhere, Laxminandan and Vidyachatur discuss Saras. Vidyachatur points out how Saras showed concern for Laxminandan today. Laxminandan admits he had hoped Saras would accept him, but he doesn’t know how to take the first step. Vidyachatur reassures him that Saras will eventually come around. Laxminandan regrets not bringing a wedding gift for his son. Vidyachatur encourages him to do whatever he feels is right because they are father and son, not adversaries. Smiling, Laxminandan hints that he has a surprise planned and walks away. Vidyachatur hopes his belief in healing their relationship doesn’t falter.
Suddenly, a man disguised as a postman approaches Laxminandan and hands him a letter. When he opens it, he’s shocked to read a threatening message warning him he will have to pay for his past sins. Confused, he tries to make sense of it.
Meanwhile, Saras admires Kumud as she gets ready, wearing bangles and earrings. He watches her lovingly as she adorns herself with his mother’s anklet. When she notices him staring, she gestures to ask what he’s thinking. Saras approaches her as the romantic track Mann Ke Dor plays in the background. He applies sindoor on her forehead, making Kumud smile. He tells her she looks beautiful and belongs only to him, and they share an affectionate embrace.
Just then, Kusum and Danny barge into their room, prompting Saras and Kumud to pull away awkwardly. Kusum teases them and calls them to join for lunch. When Saras says he isn’t hungry, Kusum relays that Badimaa has said no one will eat unless they join. Saras finally agrees.
At lunch, everyone is surprised to see the house’s bright and odd decor, a result of Kalika’s redecorating. They laugh at her strange taste. Kalika proudly claims the house is hers now and she’ll decorate it as she likes. She asks Kumud how it looks, interpreting the silence as approval. But when everyone bursts into laughter, Kalika gets upset. Yash jokes that it’s not Holi. Offended, Kalika storms off.
In the kitchen, she looks in the mirror, washing her face to hide her tears. Yash’s mother enters and asks why she’s upset. Kalika accuses the family of insulting not just her, but also Yash’s mother. She manipulates the situation, convincing her that everyone mocked both of them today.
Back at the table, the family continues to enjoy their meal and laughter. Laxminandan joins them, and Saras’s expression instantly changes. Laxminandan looks at his son, and Saras stands up, but Badimaa holds him back. Laxminandan says he’ll eat later, but she insists he stay. Vidyachatur urges both of them to sit. The men start praising themselves, while Vidyachatur acknowledges the women for cooking tirelessly every day.
Then, Vidyachatur asks if Laxminandan brought a gift for Saras and Kumud. Laxminandan replies that while he wished he could shower them with gifts, he brought something small as a blessing. Kumud opens the envelope to find tickets to Switzerland. The family rejoices. Kusum excitedly remarks that Kumud and Saras will get to enjoy a Swiss vacation.
However, Saras is triggered by memories of his mother’s death and her letter. His mood shifts. Taking the tickets, he sarcastically remarks about the gift before tearing them apart in front of everyone. Shocked, the family watches as he storms off.
Vidyachatur tries to console a heartbroken Laxminandan. Kumud finds Saras and confronts him, asking why he acted that way toward his own father. She questions whether it was anger or hatred. Saras says he doesn’t fully understand his feelings—he simply knows he can’t stand his father. Kumud says she knows it’s not hate, because if it were, he wouldn’t have risked his life to save him. She insists that he still cares. Saras admits that what hurts him most is that his mother left the world because of Laxminandan—and that pain is something he just can’t forget.
