Anupama update Wednesday 18 June 2025

The episode begins with Babu Ji announcing that today is Mahi and Prem’s engagement, which means their marriage is on the horizon. He explains that this is a time for the couple and their families to get to know each other and prepare for the upcoming wedding. Anupama adds that if this first step goes well, everything else will fall into place. She beautifully compares the fragrance of mehendi spreading through the house to the essence of values and customs filling the home. Babu Ji reminds Prem to fulfill the promise he made. Anupama then asks Prem and Mahi to exchange rings.

In a flashback, Rahi imagines Prem putting a ring on her finger. Back to reality, Prem fumbles and drops the ring on the floor; it slides close to Rahi. Baa immediately tells Rahi to pick it up. Mahi questions how the ring fell, and Ansh teases her that Prem must be nervous. Rahi picks up the ring and hands it to Prem, who prepares again to put it on Mahi’s finger. But Ansh interrupts, saying the ring signals something is wrong because there is no entertainment. Babu Ji starts a song to lighten the mood.

Prem and Mahi dance with the entire family, but Anupama notices Rahi distancing herself from Prem. After the dance, she brings the rings again, and Prem finally places the ring on Mahi’s finger as Anupama sings a celebratory song with everyone joining in.

During the festivities, Rahi’s dupatta gets caught on Prem’s watch and tears. Prem keeps the torn piece. While dancing, Rahi steps back, and Prem notices a decorative light stand falling toward her. He rushes to save her, holding the stand and pulling her away. Everyone watches, surprised and shocked by his protective act. Prem asks if Rahi is okay. She questions him if he’s crazy to risk his life for her. Prem replies that he couldn’t just let her die. Rahi says she would have died if anything happened to him. He replies he would have died too and hugs her, confessing his love. Rahi reciprocates, and the family is stunned.

Ishu comments on the dramatic climax, while Pakhi looks forward to everyone’s reactions. Anupama calls Prem and Rahi aside and turns towards the crowd. A voiceover reflects that love can’t be hidden, even if people try; it is like a river of fire that everyone must cross. Mahi, stunned, holds up her ring and reminds Prem that he just got engaged to her, citing Babu Ji’s words. She struggles to understand what she witnessed and asks if it was some prank or if they’re joking. She insists it must have been a mistake or a prank, shaking Rahi to get answers. Anupama tells Mahi to let go of Rahi. Mahi pushes Rahi aside.

Prem steps in front of Mahi and firmly states that it was no prank, but the truth that revealed itself in a moment of panic. He admits that he loves Rahi and that Rahi loves him too. Baa questions if Prem was asleep or drunk when agreeing to the engagement. Prem explains he agreed for Mahi’s sake, because she couldn’t bear the pain, and that Rahi had asked him to sacrifice his love for Mahi and Anupama’s happiness. Mahi falls, shocked. Prem tries to hold her hand but still holds Rahi’s. Mahi regains her composure and approaches Baa, hugging her.

Pakhi scolds Prem and Rahi, saying they have crossed all limits and shouldn’t have toyed with Rahi’s feelings. Rahi moves toward Anupama, who stops her. Prem tries to approach her, but she stops him too. Mahi tells Anupama that Rahi never wanted their engagement to happen. Anupama asks everyone to calm down and explains that she had asked Prem multiple times and even questioned Rahi about her feelings. She also advised Mahi not to rush but was ignored by all. Anupama questions if they believe this is a fairy tale where the bride changes and everyone lives happily ever after. She condemns their behavior as disrespectful and shameless towards the family.

Baa states she had warned that Rahi was not the right fit for the family. Pakhi says she also gave hints earlier. Ansh voices that he doesn’t like Prem. Babu Ji asks everyone to stop reacting. Toshu comments on how they dislike their reactions. Pakhi asserts that Anupama will not lecture them again. Ansh admits he was just passing time with Mahi and Rahi. Pari tells him to stop and explains that Prem never loved Mahi but was confused between Mahi’s love and Rahi’s sacrifice. Pakhi asks why Prem didn’t tell everyone the truth. Kinjal tells her not to scold her daughter. Babu Ji says he came back only to witness this drama. Baa blames Rahi for all the chaos in the house. Babu Ji remarks that before Rahi came, this was a dream house where everyone was happy.

Ansh insists Prem should have been honest. Kinjal and others agree that the truth should have come out earlier. Prem bows before Anupama and apologizes. He explains that he kept his feelings hidden because he didn’t want to trouble her or hurt Mahi. He admits that he understands the pain of first love. Prem recounts that it was beyond his control when he fell for Rahi, and he is unsure when Mahi fell for him. He says when he realized he loved Rahi, she had already learned about Mahi’s love and hid her own feelings, never confessing that she loved him. Had she been honest, the situation wouldn’t have reached the engagement stage. He tried to make Rahi understand but she asked him to sacrifice their love for Mahi’s happiness, and he agreed.

Prem shares that despite Rahi’s pain, she focused on the wedding preparations and never tried to snatch him from Mahi. He was the one pushing her away. He accepted Rahi’s stubbornness because he knew how much Anupama loved Mahi. He intended to try accepting Mahi until the engagement, but when he saw Rahi in danger, he couldn’t stop himself, and his true feelings came to the surface.

Ansh begins to physically confront Prem, but Rahi shouts at him to stop. Baa scolds Rahi for intervening. Toshu steps in to stop Ansh’s attack. Rahi hugs Prem and pleads with everyone not to hurt him, tears streaming down her face.
