Soulmates update Tuesday 17 June 2025
The episode opens with Tejas recalling the events from earlier that day. In a flashback, we see him visiting a restaurant in search of a job. The manager explains the nature of the work, revealing that it’s a grueling 12-hour shift. Tejas looks uneasy upon hearing this.
The manager bluntly asks whether he wants the job or not. Tejas hesitantly agrees to work as a waiter and inquires about the salary. The manager responds that they will decide his pay after four days, depending on his performance.
He also adds that they typically avoid hiring educated people and asks about Tejas’s qualifications. Tejas lies, saying he only studied till 10th grade. The manager tells him to start work immediately. The flashback ends.
Back in the present, Sachin and Sayali question Tejas about his new job. Before Tejas can respond, Roshni jumps in defensively, asking why they’re interrogating him. Sayali retorts, leading to a brief argument.
Renu scolds Sayali for her tone, telling her to mind her place. Tejas, sensing the tension, reminds himself to stay cautious around Sachin. When asked again about his job, Tejas gives vague details, saying it’s technical and involves customer interaction.
Roshni chimes in, guessing it’s a customer service role. Tejas agrees, clearly disheartened, but hides it. He hands sweets to Renu and quietly walks away.
Later, Roshni embraces Tejas and tells him how happy she is. She asks about the company and his designation. Tejas admits it’s not a big company and that he only took the job for her sake. She thanks him.
He assures her that he’s not hiding anything and asks her to trust him. Roshni affirms her trust. Tejas requests that she not question him further about the job, admitting it’s not ideal, but he’s doing it just for her. She thanks him again, and they share a heartfelt hug.
Meanwhile, Sayali is busy at her flower stall. She’s chatting with a female customer, who notices Sayali isn’t wearing a mangalsutra and inquires about it. Sayali remembers Renu’s hurtful words and becomes momentarily silent. Paresh observes the interaction from a distance.
The customer directly asks if Renu took her jewelry. Sayali quickly covers up, insisting that Renu is kind and treats her like a daughter. When asked again about her missing jewelry, Sayali lies, saying the mangalsutra was given for repair and she left her bangles at home since she’s working at the stall. The lady advises her to be careful and leaves.
Just then, Renu arrives and coldly orders Sayali to come home and prepare breakfast. The same lady watches Renu’s harsh behavior. Afterward, Sayali offers to make tea for Paresh, but he tells her to finish her work first and walks away.
The concerned woman returns and confronts Sayali, saying it’s obvious from what she just witnessed that Renu treats her poorly. Paresh, overhearing this, stops in his tracks. Sayali again defends Renu. The lady walks away, unconvinced.
Paresh approaches Renu and confronts her, saying he saw how she shouted at Sayali. He questions why she expects Sayali alone to handle all the household chores when the other two daughters-in-law are also there.
He even points out that Renu herself could cook. He defends Sayali, saying she always protects Renu’s image and never lets her respect falter in public.
Renu begins to argue, claiming Sayali is only acting out to tarnish her reputation. At this moment, Sayali walks in and hears the ongoing conversation.
Paresh demands that Renu return Sayali’s jewelry. Renu insists she never took it forcefully, saying Sayali gave it willingly. She accuses Sayali of playing the victim.
Renu vents her frustration, saying Sayali has put up her flower stall under Renu’s name, while Roshni owns a posh beauty parlor and Riya works in the television industry.
Paresh repeats that she should return the jewelry. Sayali steps in and says she doesn’t want it back—she’ll wear only what her husband gives her.
Paresh says he saw what happened at the stall and warns her about public perception. Sayali confidently responds that she doesn’t care what people say.
Sachin walks in and overhears the conversation. Sayali passionately says, “Just because I’m poor doesn’t mean only the rich have the right to self-respect.”
Renu accuses her of taunting. Sachin steps in and says, “She’s not taunting—she’s saying it directly to your face.” Paresh urges Sayali to wear her mangalsutra again, but she refuses, saying Sachin has promised to buy her a new one, and it’s a matter of his pride.
Renu tries to ridicule Sachin for this, belittling him once again.
