saras and kumud

Saras and Kumud : The episode begins with Kalika searching for an earring in Kumud’s room when Pramad wakes up and catches her. Surprised, he questions her presence. Kalika makes an excuse, claiming she came to wake him up. She then comments on Kumud’s expensive sarees and jewelry. Pramad dismisses her, reminding her that he is now married. When Kalika refuses to bring him tea, saying that Kumud is not home and has gone out with Naveen, Pramad becomes furious. Kalika smirks, determined to stop Kumud from becoming Pramad’s true wife.

Meanwhile, Kumud and Saras place a Krishna idol in the temple. Saras remarks that even though Krishna married Rukmini, he is always remembered with Radha, and he believes Krishna will guide Pramad to love Kumud. Kumud reveals that Pramad and Krishna share the same birth date, and Saras expresses hope that Pramad will one day cherish her.

Pramad wakes up fully and searches for Naveen. At the same time, Kusum discusses discipline with Kumud’s mother-in-law, who admits she was blinded by her love for Pramad. While fetching water, Kusum encounters Kalika, who requests water for Pramad. Kusum warns her to be cautious and later notices that Kalika, who had been pretending to have a fracture, is perfectly fine.

Pramad confronts Saras about his morning whereabouts. Saras explains that he went to the market with Kumud, as discussing Saraswatichandra at home would be difficult. He pretends that Kumud was eager to go with Pramad but he intervened with an excuse. Pramad inquires about Kumud’s conversation, and Saras misleadingly describes Saraswatichandra as a deeply religious man, devoted to prayers, and influenced by his mother’s values. Saras subtly manipulates Pramad, suggesting that engaging in prayers might help him learn more about Saraswatichandra.

Later, Kumud begins to suspect Kalika’s deceptive behavior. When Kalika brings food for Pramad, Kumud taunts her. Kalika arrogantly declares that Pramad will prefer food served by her. Kumud challenges her, warning that respect is built on truth, not deceit. Kalika, in return, boldly challenges Kumud, claiming that by the next day, she will prove that Pramad belongs to her and always will.

The next morning, Kumud prepares for Janmashtami, fasting for Pramad. She requests a gift from Budhidhan, who agrees. Smiling, she leads him to Pramad’s room, where Budhidhan unexpectedly wishes Pramad a happy birthday. Stunned, Pramad questions Murakh Das, unable to believe that his father is acknowledging his birthday. Budhidhan gifts him clothes for the celebration, but Pramad coldly refuses, dismissing the gesture.

Meanwhile, Saras vows to bring Pramad to the puja. He hands Kumud a glass of milk for Pramad, who scoffs at the offering, suspecting it is either because of his birthday or Saraswatichandra’s preferences. Kumud firmly insists that today, he will have milk instead of alcohol. Pramad laughs mockingly but ultimately takes the milk to his room. Saras, confident in his plan, thanks the Lord.

Elsewhere, Badimaa calls, but Saras, upon recognizing her voice, disconnects. Kalika, however, answers the next call. Badimaa introduces herself and inquires about Naveen. She is shocked to learn that Naveen, whom Budhidhan had assigned for Kumud and Pramad’s safety, never visited their home. This revelation puzzles Kalika, who starts questioning Naveen’s true identity.

During the puja preparations, Kumud lets Kalika perform the aarti while she takes Pramad’s breakfast. Kalika glares at Kumud, seething with anger. Meanwhile, Pramad is frustrated by the pious atmosphere at home, where alcohol is not even mentioned. Saras confronts him, teasingly suggesting that if he truly wants to understand Kumud, he should attend the puja without drinking. Saras subtly provokes him, suggesting that Pramad’s curiosity about Kumud stems from jealousy. Trapped by Saras’ words, Pramad walks away in deep thought.

Later, Pramad returns to his room, staring at the glass of milk. Saras, sensing progress, blows the conch, feeling victorious. Meanwhile, Kumud, exhausted from fasting and working all day, suddenly faints. Pramad rushes to catch her, shocking everyone, including Saras. Pramad carries her to their room, while Saras reassures Pramad’s mother that Kumud is in good hands.

As Kumud regains consciousness, she softly wishes Pramad a happy birthday. He thanks her but dismisses her attempts to act like a wife. She pleads with him not to drink today, but he mocks her, claiming that her fasting means nothing to him. However, when he offers her water, she insists that he drink it instead. Frustrated, Pramad throws the glass and declares that he will drink alcohol no matter what. Kumud remains steadfast in her faith, believing that he won’t drink. Pramad laughs at her determination, warning that he will return drunk and force her to break her fast. Kalika, overhearing the exchange, watches intently from the doorway.
