Saras and Kumud update Tuesday 17 June 2025

saras and kumud

The Episode begins with Kusum weeping silently, her heart aching for her missing sister, Kumud. Danny sees her in tears, gently comforts her, and holds her close in a warm embrace. Meanwhile, Sunanda calls Ghuman with a taunting smile, boasting that Kumud will never be found. Ghuman warns her that Kumud’s husband and family are searching everywhere. But Sunanda, unfazed, coldly tells her to forget she ever had a daughter-in-law. Menka overhears and sees an opportunity. Ghuman tells herself, “If only I could make you understand, Kusum… you must forget your sister.”

Saras arrives in Sundarnagar, determined to follow any lead. He asks a shopkeeper about Kumud, who recalls her holding ghungroos. But suddenly, a thief snatches Saras’s wallet and runs. Saras chases him desperately—because in that wallet is Kumud’s photo, his only lifeline to her.

Elsewhere, Menka updates Kabir: Ghuman is riding high on the tension between Saras and Danny. Kabir agrees—it’s the perfect time to pull the ground from under her feet.

Back in Chandni Bazaar, Jugnu—who has fallen in love with Kumud—offers Sunanda money to free her. Sunanda mocks his love but accepts the payment. Jugnu insists he’d rather lose everything than see Kumud forced to dance. She says it’s only for today. Jugnu, disheartened, realizes it’s not enough.

Saras corners the thief but loses him after a bystander interrupts. That man, however, turns out to be Majnu—the same kind soul who once helped Kumud escape. He tells Saras everything, including Kumud’s search for Roopmati and how goons chased her. Saras is overwhelmed with gratitude and says, “She’s my wife.” Majnu promises to help and tells Saras that he believes they’ll be reunited soon. The two set off together toward Chandni Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Kumud sits in a locked room, lost in sorrow. Sunanda brings her ghungroos and insists she prepare for tonight’s performance. Kumud stares at the anklets, then at her mangalsutra, her identity, her love. She refuses to eat or obey. Sunanda mocks her defiance and leaves.

Kumud imagines Saras beside her, comforting her. They embrace in her vision, and both silently weep. On the road, Saras too sees fleeting images of Kumud, feeling her presence in every shadow. His heart beats faster—his love leading him toward her.

Back at the Kotha, Kusum—the young dancer who befriended Kumud—brings her food again. She reveals her name is Kusum too. Kumud is stunned. Kusum tenderly asks her to eat for strength. “Think of me as your younger sister,” she says. Moved, Kumud eats quietly, thinking of her real sister Kusum and the bond they share. The two girls cry, bound by fate and sisterhood.

At home, Danny returns and tells Kusum the police found nothing. They worry for Saras, whose phone is unreachable. Ghuman, seeing Danny’s concern, grows uneasy. Meanwhile, Kumud refuses to wear the outfit sent by Sunanda. Kusum (the dancer) urges her to play along just once—to pretend she’s defeated so they can plan her escape. Kumud reluctantly agrees but firmly declares, “I will never dance.”

Sunanda enters, smiling smugly, unaware that beneath Kumud’s silence burns a fire she can’t extinguish.
